BARRINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA — Barrington police have charged 21-year-old Jeremiah K. Brown in the Dec. 28, 2025 burglary of ReStyle Designers at 121 S. Cook Street, a theft estimated at more than $106,000. Investigators said the case remains open, with more suspects still being sought, according to CBS Chicago.

Police said six masked suspects forced entry in the early morning and cleared luxury merchandise from displays in about a minute before leaving in multiple vehicles, according to ABC7 Chicago. "It’s a shame. As a business owners it is your worst nightmare," said Brian Long, Owner of Long and Company Jewelers.

Investigators used camera-network data and vehicle evidence, including Flock cameras, to identify a vehicle linked to the burglary, according to Daily Herald. "Early this morning, our store was burglarized and nearly all of our inventory was stolen, years of hard work and trust gone in seconds," said ReStyle Designers.

The shop, a luxury resale boutique in downtown Barrington’s retail mix, operates at the South Cook Street storefront and has built long-running customer relationships, according to Quintessential Barrington. Data from Illinois Demographics shows Barrington’s projected 2026 population near 11,416 and a median household income around $147,989, factors that underpin demand for high-end retail and heighten safety expectations downtown.
